Justin is a musician, taper, educator, and amateur historian. Justin grew up in Sacramento, CA and Tacoma, WA. He moved to Olympia to attend The Evergreen State College in 1997. Justin co founded a cassette label to record himself and his friends. Krazed Up Records produced original recordings using castoff demo tapes procured from K Records and Kill Rock Stars with recording equipment from Evergreen Media Loan. Krazed Up Records produced 22 of Justin’s solo albums as Mac Dawg, as well as releases for Music, DJ Happy Fun, NWC, O Nuts, Thomas Jackson, A Camp, KB Smooth, Cookies and Milk, and many others. Justin volunteered for the Olympia Film Society and served on the OFS Board of Directors. He also produced shows for Thurston Community Television (TCTV) public television and was a backup dancer for the band Scream Club. Today, Justin lives in Tumwater, WA with his wife and children, and works as a national board-certified teacher librarian for the Olympia School District and an active union leader with the Washington Education Association (WEA). He currently serves as a member of the City of Olympia's Cultural Access Board, and served as a board member for the Olympia School District. Justin continues to perform as Mac Dawg, the Human Jukebox comedy improv group (since 1999), and in the band Howardian. He also creates wacked out videos that most people don’t understand.
