John Shultz

Olympia musician and journalist, interviewer for this project

John Shultz was born and raised in Olympia and has been attending local shows since he was "too young to be in the venues." From around 1996 to 1998, Shultz developed his casual interview technique for the locally produced music zine AXIS. His memories and relics of the hyper-local Olympia music scene were a tremendous asset showcased in the interviews he conducted for The Olympia Music History Project. In recent years, John has joined the ranks of Olympia's independent music scene as a bass player for the bands Chance of Ghosts and The Proffits.
